Update!

Just when I think something is complete, I decide to play with it some more and tweak it and completely change it!
I'm working on four tracks right now. Two of which have gone on the back burner because, well, one is a longterm project and I've got bored of the other!
Couple of weeks I should have something.

August Mix

It's been a while since I did any deejaying, it's kind of difficult with no turntables! But because my brother was going to Ibiza, I tried to make a mix for him using Sony's Acid XMD. I love that software, man. I've been using it for years. S'anyway, I feverishly mixed away and got a half-decent thirty minute mix together, but it was like the day before he left so I thought fuck it, I'll put some more work into it and he can have it when he comes back. The mix is now complete and I'm really happy with it. It's still not the same as using vinyl, I miss that, but it's bloody easier and mixing can be flawless.

So may I present, DJ Filfy - August 2007

Bob Sinclar - Ibiza Sound
Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You (Acapella)

Transformers

Every couple of months I make a CD for my brother. It's a mix of allsorts. Actually, since he got an iPod, I've been sending him shit via YouSendIt. Anyway, him and my mum are visiting next week from England, which will be awesome!! I'd make him a CD anyway to mark the occassion but this one is a little extra special. Transformers comes out July 4th. He will still be here. We love to talk about shows we'd watch as kids and toys we played with. We are definatley going to see it, probably July 5th, as we're having a party for the forth. So I made a CD containing artists and/or songs relating to the Transformers. Whether it be one of the taglines, a sample from the cartoon show or whatever, it's on there.
Here's the tracklist and some links..

Transformers Intro Theme
Robots In Disguise - Turn It Up
7L & Esoteric - Be Alert
Gnarls Barkley - Transformer
Autobots Vs. Prodigy - Outta Space
Le Tigre - Deceptacon
One Be Lo - Decepticons
Powerman 5000 - Transform
DJ Starscream - Transformers (Decepticon Remix)
Four Tet - Robots In Disguise
Robots In Disguise - 50 Minutes
Meatbee - Transformers
Son Of Ran - Gates To Cybertron
Powerman 5000 - Megatronic
Ugress - Decepticons
Transformers Outro Theme
Turin - The G1 Song

Plus a bunch of sound effects and random snippets from the cartoon and shit thrown in.
I'm really loving Robots In Disguise and Son Of Ran at the moment. You can download Son Of Ran's 'Tribute To Sky City' here, completely legally as it was a free release!
I'm working on a track for the CD, 'Optimus Prime'. Currently it's a minute long piece but I'm hoping to extend that. It has a lot of potential.

And actually, I'm fucking sick of seeing the word 'Transformers' now.
And I haven't bought my tshirt yet. I think I'm going to make one.

But anyway, there's a bunch of tracks that didn't go on 'cos I knew my bro wouldn't like them. Like anything by Stan Bush or Vince DiCola who appeared on the Transformers The Movie Soundtrack in 1987. Actually, any of those hair-metal bands that appeared on the soundtrack didn't make it. The tracklist for the new movie soundtrack has been released but I totally avoided all of those.
I still have high hopes that the movie be will be awesome.

Monster

Monster. It's loud and obnoxious. It won't go away. If it were a color it would be brown. Yes, brown.
There really isn't much more to say it about this track, really.
It's a Drum & Bass monster!!

Download it for free here:

Not much to report really. I'm working on an exciting new project. Obssessivley. It's taking up a lot of time but it's worth it. I've got a completed tune 'Monster' sitting on my hardrive waiting to be uploaded. It's time will come. But working on this project I'm discovering new bands and artists that I'm excited about. So... That's it.

Finally (re)done

My Kemistry remix is finally completed. Woo!
So like I posted before, I've remixed this classic Metalheadz tune before but was never really that happy with it. The remix came about in the first place because I picked up this white label with a real dirty nuskool breaks remix years ago. Maybe I felt I could do better or it needed more, I don't know, but I worked on it. My first atempt was really raw and choppy and didn't flow like I had envisioned. I never put it up for download, just threw it on a CD. This time around I'm much happier. Got some nice breakbeats in there, added some cheeky samples, less bass which is a good thing; my original had stupid loud bass in it and distorted the track completely. This time I've been more subtle. Which is a change as I'm currently working on some heavily bass oriented shit at the moment.
